Jerry Hellebusch, President
Jerry has been involved in the executive search industry since 1979, with the last 31 years building his own highly successful firm, which has grown to be one of the largest search firms in the state of Kansas. During that time, he has been involved in more than 7,000 search assignments. Prior to his entry into the executive search industry, Jerry had a successful career in sales and sales management. His community involvement has included membership in the Kansas City Area Development Council, Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce, Overland Park Chamber of Commerce, Management Exchange Group, National Association of Personnel Services, Big Brothers Big Sisters Corporate Club and Missouri & Kansas Search and Staffing Association. Jerry has served as a board member of the Kansas City Association of Personnel Services and executive committee member and president of the American Association of Finance and Accounting.
JD Huxman, Chief Financial Officer
JD’s experiences in both public accounting and private industry brought him to the Morgan Hunter Companies in 1999. As CFO and part of the Management Team, he has been instrumental in the direction and growth of each MH company, separately and collectively. JD has served on numerous boards, and is the past president of Financial Executives International – Kansas City Chapter.
The Accounting & Finance Team
With more than 21 years of accounting and finance recruiting experience, Harry Brewer is one of our most tenured recruiters. Prior to joining Morgan Hunter in 2008, Harry worked in the accounting and finance industry before becoming a division director for one of the nation’s largest recruiting firms. This extensive experience has provided him with a level of expertise unrivaled in the staffing industry. From chief financial officers to staff level accountants, Harry continues to have a positive impact on the lives of those with whom he works.
Jeff Olson has been a Recruiting Manager with the Accounting and Finance Division since 2004. Prior to his success with Morgan Hunter, Jeff held sales positions with multiple industry-leading companies in the technology industry. His tenure and experience enable him to provide valuable perspective on the Kansas City market for employers and candidates. Partnering with some of the region’s top organizations, he has successfully recruited and placed a diverse range of positions, from entry-level to top executives.
Adele has been with Morgan Hunter since 2009, first joining the Administrative Division before transitioning to her current role as a Recruiting Manager on the Accounting & Finance team. Prior to joining Morgan Hunter, Adele earned her B.A. in accounting and worked as a Staff Accountant. Her extensive experience in recruiting, coupled with her time as an accountant, gives Adele unique insight into the needs of employers and candidates alike. Throughout her recruiting career, Adele has consistently been a top producer, making her an invaluable member of the Morgan Hunter team.
The Administrative Team
Stephanie earned her degree in psychology from the University of Missouri – Columbia and joined Morgan Hunter in July 2005. She is an executive recruiting consultant and Director of the Administrative Division. Stephanie feels that her position at Morgan Hunter has enabled her to live her passion for assisting others to enhance their lives. Working with employed and unemployed individuals enables her to be a resource for her clients for both direct hire and temporary needs. In working with Stephanie, you will discover her strong work ethic and positive attitude. She has drive and ambition for success and wants to make a difference! Stephanie is also active in the community, including serving in a leadership role on the membership committee for SHRM-KC.
Prior to joining Morgan Hunter in 2012, Melissa earned degrees in Human Resource Management and Business Administration from Kansas State University. Over the years, Melissa has been an active member of the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) and the Downtown Chamber of Commerce. Her involvement with these organizations has helped her develop an expansive network of candidates and strong relationships with Kansas City employers. Her advanced communication skills, positive attitude, and patience makes her a perfect partner for job seekers and employers.
Andrea earned her degree in Business Administration from the University of Missouri- Columbia and joined the Morgan Hunter Administrative Division in 2012. She brings experience from working in a corporate account administrator position where she gained extensive knowledge in the administrative profession. Andrea has the ability to identify qualified and professional individuals, investigate their career desires and then match those job seekers with our clients’ needs. Andrea’s strong work ethic and reliability is a clear reflection of how hard she will work for both her candidates and clients.
Morgan earned her degree in Psychology from the University of Arkansas prior to joining the Administrative Division at Morgan Hunter. She is an active alumni member of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority and brings experience recruiting in a corporate environment. Morgan brings a fresh set of ideas and experiences to the team. In working with her, you will find that her intuitive nature and strong work ethic make her a perfect complement to your recruiting efforts.
Courtney earned her degree in Business Management from the University of Arkansas and joined the Administrative Division at Morgan Hunter in 2018. Prior to joining Morgan Hunter, Courtney was a community group leader for CRU at U of A, a Christian-based campus organization through which she led and mentored young girls. Outside of the office, Courtney enjoys outdoor activities and traveling. She has been to 12 different countries across Europe and Asia, learning to effectively communicate through language and cultural barriers and build relationships with all kinds of different people. The interpersonal skills she’s learned through these experiences have proven invaluable to both employers and job seekers.
The Human Resources Team
Having joined Morgan Hunter in 1996, Carol is one of our most tenured recruiters. Carol has a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in rehabilitation counseling and is currently involved with Recruiters Roundtable and the Library Steering Committee. Her longevity in the recruiting industry gives her a deep understanding of human resources and an unparalleled ability to assess HR talent. Her passion for connecting candidates and employers has led to an immensely successful career for more than 20 years.
Julie has been with Morgan Hunter since 1996. For the past decade, Julie has been heavily involved with the Society of Human Resource Management of Johnson County (SHRMJC) and gives much of her time to other community organizations. Julie co-manages the administrative division with Carol Schmidt and focuses on recruiting human resources candidates. Julie holds a Bachelor of Science in economics from the University of Kansas.
Pam Finnell, PHR, SHRM-CP
Pam earned her bachelor’s degree in business with an emphasis in human resources from Avila University and is both PHR and SHRM-CP certified. Since joining Morgan Hunter in 2006, Pam has been heavily involved in the human resources community in Kansas City. She was the president of the Society for Human Resource Management of Greater Kansas City (SHRM-KC) in 2010, served on the board for four years, and is still an active member today. Through these experiences, she has been able to develop an extensive network of HR professionals that benefits both candidates and employers.
As a Senior Recruiter in our Human Resources Division, Kat has extensive experience connecting talented professionals with career opportunities in the Kansas City area. Kat earned her Bachelor of Arts and Science degree in International Marketing and Merchandising from the University of Missouri – Columbia. Prior to joining Morgan Hunter, Kat was a Human Resources Manager in the retail industry where she led recruiting and onboarding efforts for multiple retail locations. Her recruiting expertise and hands-on knowledge of the HR industry makes her an invaluable resource for candidates and clients alike.
The Information Technology Team
As a Director for the Information Technology Division, Adam takes great pride in linking candidates and clients in mutually beneficial situations. Since 2006, Adam has been effectively utilizing his skills as a hiring manager and his staffing experience to meet and exceed candidate and client goals. He takes great satisfaction in improving the careers of his candidates, and providing the exemplary results companies need.
Eric is the senior recruiter in the Morgan Hunter Information Technology Division, having joined the firm in 1998. Eric has a diverse professional background in business, both in Kansas City and San Diego. From CIOs to staff level IT professionals, Eric works with all levels of candidates to ensure a great match for client and candidate alike.
Prior to joining Morgan Hunter as a Senior Recruiter for the Information Technology Division, Brad spent more than 12 years in the staffing industry, recruiting for both temporary and full-time roles. Brad is a Certified Personnel Consultant, which has given him a baseline knowledge of employment law and best practices, while keeping him abreast of the latest legislation, employment trends and other key human resource issues. Brad concentrates on making smart recommendations, so both the client and candidate are able to achieve their goals.
The Sales, Marketing & Advertising Team
Brian has been recruiting nationally and internationally on behalf of Fortune 500 companies since 1997 and has won multiple top producer and top sales awards throughout his career. He was previously a Practice Manager with a national firm where he led a team of twelve recruiters. Brian holds a Bachelor of Science degree in finance from the University of Central Missouri. He also serves on the Board of Directors for Thank You Walt Disney, Inc., a non-profit project to restore Walt Disney’s original animation studio in KC to create an educational center and museum. Brian also joined the Board of Directors for Walkin’ & Rollin’ Costumes in early 2018, which is a non-profit that provides any child with special needs equipment a unique and custom-built costume, free of charge to the child’s family. With more than 10 years at Morgan Hunter, Brian has built lasting relationships with professionals and employers throughout Kansas City.
Dan is a graduate of Kansas State University and has over 10 years of experience working in the sales, marketing and advertising industry. As a Kansas City native, Dan has built an extensive network that he utilizes to connect with candidates and clients, establishing mutually beneficial relationships. Outside of the office, Dan is an active fundraiser for Big Brothers Big Sister of Greater Kansas City and is a member of the St. Thomas Aquinas Alumni Leadership Council. His extensive knowledge of the Kansas City employment landscape makes him an asset to both candidates and clients.
Geoff has been in the Staffing industry since 2010 – placing permanent, temporary, and temporary to hire professionals in a wide range of fields. Geoff grew up in Denver, CO, and landed at the University of Kansas where he studied Health and Exercise Science. During college he started his career in sales/marketing and never let up. Since 2010, he has developed a reputation in the industry for acclimating to his clients’ and candidates’ needs as they grow and look for new, promising opportunities. His ability to adapt as the industry evolves has placed him in prime position to cater to our customers’ ever-changing visions, as well as our candidates’ desires to start the next chapter in their careers.
