For instance, one particular job we have open now is the role of a Cost Analyst. This position is responsible for costing, inventory reporting, and controls testing within a manufacturing environment. It is also accountable for driving cost reductions and profit improvements.
In addition, some other tasks associated with the position include:
- Leading the annual process for setting standard costs.
- Assisting with product line profitability analysis.
- Coordinating physical inventories.
- Analyzing and reviewing bills of material to ensure accurate product costing.
- Preparing and reviewing product cost estimates.
- Supporting and participating in Lean initiatives.
- Preparing ad-hoc financial analysis to support senior management.
To apply for this job, you must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, and/or an MBA. You must also have at least one year of experience in cost accounting in a manufacturing environment, as well as strong skills with Excel and a demonstrated ability to drive process improvements in manufacturing. Other requirements for the job include the ability to manage multiple projects and work well under pressure.
