At Morgan Hunter, we’re lucky to have so many tenured recruiters. As our employees celebrate their Morgan Hunter anniversaries, we thought you’d like to get to know them a little better! Today Adele Hoch, Team Leader and Senior Recruiter in our Administrative Division, is celebrating 7 years with Morgan Hunter.

When and how did you start working at Morgan Hunter?

Back in 2009, I was working at another staffing firm when a former coworker of mine, Casey Wright (a director in our Accounting Division), told me he was working at Morgan Hunter. He had a lot of great things to say about the company and told me I should check it out. I was looking to make a career move to a company that had more of a family atmosphere, and Morgan Hunter sounded like it would be a great fit.

Favorite sports team?

Kansas State Wildcats! I grew up going to the football games with my parents. We still have season tickets. K-State football games have been a family tradition of ours for a long time.

Favorite movie?

Some of my favorite movies are “Rounders,” “Now and Then,” “Top Gun” and “The Sandlot.”

Favorite book?

“Where the Red Fern Grows”

Favorite TV show?

I really like “Modern Family,” “This is Us,” “House of Cards,” and “Bloodline.”

Favorite food?

Mexican. I love trying new Mexican Restaurants. I just ate at Tortas for the first time in Chicago. I highly recommend it.

Best place to eat in Kansas City?

There are many great restaurants in Kansas City, but one of my favorites is Café Trio.

What do you do in your spare time?

I have season tickets to the Royals, and my family has season tickets to K-State football, so a lot of my spare time is spent going to sporting events! I also enjoy working out, snow skiing, and playing with my dog, Bailey.

What’s something most people don’t know about you?

I can play two instruments — piano and alto saxophone.

What advice do you give your candidates?

You should always prepare for your interview. Research the company online, be familiar with the job description, prepare questions to ask at the end of your interview, research the people who will interview you on LinkedIn, and make sure you have appropriate interview attire. You only have one chance to make a first impression.

Candidate success story?

I had a candidate who wasn’t happy with their job. The position wasn’t the right fit for her. She really wanted to be challenged and find something with more responsibility. It took more than a year, but I finally found the perfect position for her career aspirations. Now she is the Executive Administrative Assistant to the CFO at a great company where she is more of a business partner than an administrator. We still stay in touch to this day.

What is your favorite thing about working at Morgan Hunter?

My favorite thing about working at Morgan Hunter is learning about the different companies in Kansas City. I love getting the opportunity to network with executives at other companies and learn how they run their businesses. I’ve learned so much in the 7 years I’ve been here.

What has kept you at Morgan Hunter for 7 years?

I really like the people I work with. We have a lot of tenured staff here, which is really hard to find in the staffing industry. We have a great team and we are friends outside of work.
