Do I have to register in order to use SubFinder?
Yes. You must call in and register before reporting your first absence.
Do I have to register every time I call in?
No. You only have to register once.
Can I assign or request a particular substitute, and if so, how?
If your district allows you to assign and/or request a particular substitute, you will need the substitute’s SubFinder-assigned ID number. A list of these numbers should be available in your school’s office. If the substitute is unavailable for any reason, the system will notify you at the time of the call and allow you to choose another substitute.
Do I need to remember my job number?
Yes. The job number is your confirmation that SubFinder has accepted your absence. You will also need this number if you need to cancel the absence.
Will I have the same job number for all my absences?
No. Every new absence reported receives its own job number.
Can I find out if my absence has been filled and who has accepted it?
Yes. If you call in or log onto Webconnect and review your absences, you are able to determine if the absence has been filled and what substitute has accepted the job. Remember to specify the date range in which you have requested the substitute.
What does "Substitute Required" mean?
By selecting "Substitute Required" you are opening up your job assignment to the entire substitute pool, with the exception of those individuals on your Exclusion List.
What does "Requested Substitute" mean?
By selecting "Requested Substitute" you are able to select one specific substitute that can exclusively review that job assignment online or via the phone up until 12 hours before the start time.
What does it mean if Subfinder will not allow me to enter or cancel a job?
The Cancel Deadline has passed, and you will be instructed to call the MHED Administrator at (866) 923-6433.
